As the public outcry over the recent Electric debacle dies down, the City Council continues to weather the storm and conduct business as usual. Yet there are several questions that must be answered beyond the green energy contracts themselves, including questions regarding capital planning and funding.
A lot of people in Sun City value the beautiful downtown and well done freshening up of old town homes. So do long time residents and newcomers who settle here for Georgetown’s graciousness. With so much going for us, how did the present city council, except for Councillors Jonrowe and Eby, not try to accommodate the residents of Georgetown? Why did those council members let things get to the point that HARC signs show up in yards like a political campaign? The lack of transparency and disregard of resident concerns won’t be addressed without a change in council membership.
